Some workers for the Transportation Security Administration will be getting a partial paycheck, their first in nearly a month since the government shutdown began on Dec. 22, multiple media outlets are reporting.
TSA Administrator David Pekoske said workers at the I-band and below who worked without pay from Dec. 23 through Jan. 5 will get 40 hours worth of pay. Senior level positions will not be getting the partial pay on Friday, NBC News reported.
Most employees @TSA I-band and below who worked in an exempted status during Pay Period 26 will receive a partial payment for that pay period.

Pekoske said they found funding in various sources to come up with the income, according to CBS News.
#breaking @TSA_Pekoske has just informed staff he’s found funds to provide one week’s pay to most front line @tsa workers who have been on the job during the shutdown.

CBS News reported the money is coming from unlapsed funds from 2018's TSA budgets.
Despite the pay for some TSA workers, federal air marshals will not be getting a partial paycheck. There was not enough money available. Air marshals at the I-band and below will get 2018 performance awards instead.
