LOS ANGELES — Former President Barack Obama can soon add a street name to his long list of accolades and accomplishments.
The city of Los Angeles is honoring Obama by renaming a road in his honor next month.
Rodeo Road will be officially renamed Obama Boulevard on May 4 during a renaming ceremony and street festival on May 4, according to a social media post from City Council President Herb Wesson.
The City Council unanimously approved Wesson's proposal last summer to rename a 4-mile stretch of Rodeo Road between Jefferson Boulevard and Arlington Avenue in honor of the 44th president, KTLA-TV reported.
The renaming ceremony and festival will take place where Obama Boulevard intersects with Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in South L.A.
