KNBC reported that the driver of the Peterbilt truck tried to brake for stopped traffic, but when he used the exit ramp to avoid cars, the truck toppled over the side, rolling down an embankment.

The Los Angeles Times reported some light-blue cases of Modelo Especial beer opened, sending cans rolling onto the lanes. A woman who lives near the freeway saw the accident and called police to report it.

"This is one of those circumstances where alcohol is involved," California Highway Patrol Officer Rodrigo Jimenez told KCBS. "The good news is that there are no DUI drivers here and there were no arrests."

According to a California Highway Patrol incident log, the driver exited the truck and was able to walk without assistance, LA Times reported.
