CHARLESTOWN, Mass. — Three boats caught fire late Tuesday at a marina on Constitution Road, with two of the boats eventually sinking.
Multiple units responded to the blaze at Constitution Marina around 11:20 p.m. and fought the fire from the docks and water. Nearly 50 firefighters tackled the blaze which started on a larger boat where one person was living, and then spread to two others, Boston Deputy Fire Chief Robert Calobrisi said.

Just spoke with other boat owners here at the #Charlestown marina. One man tells us they tried using 6 fire extinguishers to put out the flames, to no avail. Said fire jumped from boat to boat too quickly. @boston25 pic.twitter.com/l8CbhedpXK

No one was injured but two of the boats sunk and another sustained heavy damage. Firefighters' efforts were hampered by a lack of hydrants and diesel fuel on one of the boats that helped stoke the flames, the deputy chief said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The BFD estimated damages at around $1 million.
