Supporters rally around The Mighty Quinn after infection sends him back to hospital

BOSTON — He may be small, but he sure is Mighty.

Little Quinn Waters captured the hearts of many as he battles cancer.

Quinn was back at Boston Children's hospital fighting a blood infection over the weekend and local communities did not let him down.

The Weymouth Department of Public Works put together a blood drive for residents to donate.

After his condition stabilized in the Intensive Care Unit, he underwent surgery to remove the cause of the infection.

Now, he's one step closer to returning home.

In a Facebook post, Quinn's mother, Tara, revealed touching details of what it's like to be a mother to a child with cancer.

"A reality of being a cancer mom, now that the port is removed, once it heals- I can give him a bath, something I haven't been able to do since February 9th," she wrote.

She also mentioned how great it was to have support from so many people and even stopped in Quincy to see signs put up by R.M. Pacella, Inc.

Before this infection, many people visited Quinn while he recovered from treatment in isolation including South Shore first responders and Dropkick Murphys.
