SOUTHBRIDGE — Two people and two dogs from Southbridge, Mass. survived a plane crash in North Carolina Thursday morning.
The pair, and two dogs, escaped without injury when a single-engine plane they were traveling in crashed into a grove of trees, according to fire officials in Duplin County, North Carolina.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. in the area of Tram Road.
The plane was equipped with a parachute that enabled it to reach the ground at a safe speed, officials said.
