He began shooting at the officers, police returned fire and hit the man several times, but did not kill him.
Police then went into the apartment where they found two victims with their throats slashed, a source told Boston 25 News. Police say the victims are two adults, a man and woman in their 50s.
The apartment building where the bodies were found is called the Macallen Building. Residents of that building and several neighboring buildings were temporarily ordered to shelter in place.
Police said they believe the suspect and victims were known to each other.
The investigation is still ongoing and police say multiple charges will be filed against Teixeira.
