BROCKTON, Mass. — Massachusetts State Police are looking to identify and locate a suspect they believe was involved in three separate sexual assaults and two homicides in Brockton.
Police say the suspect’s DNA was found in three separate sexual assaults that occurred in Brockton in October 2013, November 2013 and January 2014.
In December 2014, police found human remains in the woods behind North Quincy Street in Brockton. Those remains were identified as 20-year-old Ashley Mylett and 50-year-old Linda Schufeldt.

Investigators took DNA from Mylett and had it sent to the State Police Crime Lab. Police say the DNA profile found on Mylett matched that from the three sexual assaults. Police say the sexual assault suspect then became a person of interest in the two homicides.
The suspect is likely about 25 years old with brown eyes, black hair and believed to be of African ancestry.
