EAST WESTON, Mass. — The Massachusetts State Police overtime scandal is only growing.
The agency's ongoing audit of a troop that until recently patrolled the Massachusetts Turnpike found new troopers with questionable overtime shifts on Tuesday.
Boston 25 News has confirmed that another seven troopers are under investigation, bringing the total number to 40 troopers being investigated under the overtime scandal.
Last week, we reported on another five troopers who are under investigation.
This is all part of an ongoing investigation ordered by State Police Colonel Kerry Gilpin inot overtime abuse at the Mass Pike Troop E barracks. That troop has since been eliminated in wake of the scandal.
The seven troopers now under investigation will remain on active duty until further investigation is complete.
