Santoro's in Saugus to close after more than 60 years

SAUGUS, Mass. — A popular North Shore sandwich shop is closing its doors soon.

Santoro's Sub-Villa on Route 1 in Saugus announced this week that they will be closing after more than 60 years in business.

The Santoro brothers who run the shop say they plan on closing in February, selling the property and retiring. It was opened by their grandfather in 1954 and has been in the family ever since.%
