SALEM, Mass. — A day care in Salem is under investigation after a report that children were left unattended.
The Department of Children and Families confirmed they are investigating an incident at Salem Community Child Care that happened on Aug. 31.
The child care center caters mostly to preschool-age children and is on the third floor of a building in the Shetland Park complex on Congress Street. DCF and the Department of Transitional Assistance also have offices in the complex.

The Department of Early Education and Care confirmed that they are also involved and said in a statement that the investigation is "in response to a recent allegation of child neglect or abuse at this program."
Boston 25 News has also reached out to Salem Police. It's not clear if they are part of the investigation.
