Rochester Police are investigating after a report of a police impersonator.
Saturday afternoon, two juveniles told police they were walking along Hanson Street , carrying a baseball bat. An older black and white Crown Victoria pulled up next to them, with blue lights flashing in the windshield. A man got out of the vehicle and approached the juveniles. He told them that carrying a baseball bat on the street was illegal in Rochester, said police. The man also allegedly said that he was a police officer and then seized the baseball bat, got in the vehicle and drove off.
The juveniles described the man as wearing a uniform with one arm patch on the left side of his uniform sleeve, a badge, and a duty belt. The male was also described as being approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium build and clean shaven.
