ALBUQUERQUE (MyFoxBoston.com) — A bat found hanging on a motorized wheelchair basket at an Albuquerque Walmart has tested positive for rabies.
That's unwelcome news for the person who attempted to remove the bat from the basket. That person was bitten by the bat and will receive a series of rabies vaccinations, which is standard protocol when someone is bitten by a rabid animal.
New Mexico health officials warned the public to never touch a wild animal; instead, call animal control.
