QUINCY, Mass. — A 49-year-old Quincy woman is being accused of lying to police about being assaulted at a local park.
The woman is being summonsed to Quincy District Court for filing a false police report pertaining to a reported robbery.
The alleged victim had reported being robbed on a dirt path behind the tennis courts at Russell Park on March 25. She claimed a man approached her from behind, threw her to the ground and stole money from her purse.
The victim had described the suspect as a black male, early 20's, bald, clean shaven, wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans, and black shoes.
However, after police reviewed surveillance footage in the area and re-interviewed the alleged victim, she confessed she had made a false report.
