QUINCY, Mass. — Quincy Police are searching for at least two additional suspects after two were taken into custody following a reported breaking and entering.

The department posted on Twitter, saying there was K-9 activity around 3:10 p.m. in the area of Newport Avenue and Brook Street after a reported breaking and entering in progress.

Two men were already in custody, and the search has continued for hours for the other suspects.

The intruders allegedly hoisted each other up using milk crates on Tuesday afternoon, before crawling through a window while a woman was home alone.

The woman's husband tells Boston 25 News his wife was hiding on the third floor of their home on the phone with 911, as suspects slashed through a screen on the second door and slipped inside.

"They were definitely in the house," Robert Vice said. "She heard them walking around inside."

In just a matter of moments, Vice's wife had her peaceful afternoon turn into one of panic with strangers inside.

"She's shaken up," Vice said.

Vice said the suspects first used a crowbar to try to jam open the back door of the Quincy home on Sherman Street.

"They couldn't get in with the crow bar," Vice said. "Behind it, there's another reinforcement. They pushed the jam, but it stops at that reinforcement."

Vice said the suspects began using items lying around the yard to find another way in.

"They rearranged these, these were all flipped up, stacked straight up," Vice said. "They rearranged these milk crates, went up, slashed the screen with my dive knife."

Investigators believe the suspects at least ran through the house and out the back door, and stole one thing that could've helped to identify them.

"They're looking for the cameras, they took two cameras that we had," Vice said.

Police told Boston 25 News the two suspects were in eyesight of officers at one point, but both escaped.

Police say the suspects are believed to be "dark skinned wearing black outer clothing," and K-9 units and Community Police remained on scene to help in the search.

Neighbors were left to question the suspects' motives after the incident in the area.

"Why would they be going around messing up somebody's life?" Phi Nguyen said.

This is a developing story, and will be updated as more people are released.
