WEBSTER, Mass. — A 12-year-old girl was driven to Connecticut and sexually assaulted after she was kidnapped by a man in Webster, according to police.
Webster Police Chief Michael D. Shaw said in a release Tuesday morning the girl had ridden her bike to May Street Park to meet a friend. It was there that she was approached by a man in a black, two-door car with a light interior.
Police say the man said he needed help with a friend and convinced her to get into the car. Police say they believe the man drove her across the state line into Connecticut, where she was sexually assaulted. Police say she was then dropped off on Chase Avenue in Dudley, where the girl was able to call her mother from someone's home.
Police say the man is described as a white male with a skinny face and blond hair. Police say he had light facial hair growth at the time.
Webster police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 508-943-1212 or email crimetips@websterpolice.com.
Police say they are asking for anyone with surveillance video or still photos of Lake Parkway or Thompson Road between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. from May 31 to contact them.
