DENNIS, Mass. — Dennis Police have a warning for people who want to enjoy the mild weather by driving to the town’s beaches and conservation areas to go for a walk.
Thieves have smashed a number of car windows parked at the beaches in broad daylight and stole items inside.
Police are telling people to leave their valuables at home or out of sight.
“In this case, ‘Lock your cars’ is not applicable,’ police said in a statement. “Give these criminals nothing of interest to see.”
Police in other towns have reported similar smash-and-grabs.
“Please stay vigilant and call us if you see anything suspicious, especially at beaches and conservation areas,” police said.
Dennis police detectives are investigating the cases and expect to release more information as their investigation unfolds.
