Police warn of phishing scam that appears to be from XFINITY

  1. Watch for spelling errors. If you notice mistakes, it might be a scam.
  2. Check "links" in the email. Hover over (don't click) the email link. Does it match? If not, be suspicious.
  3. Emails often contains threats such as "your account will be closed" or "to avoid service denial" as in the attached email.
  4. Email is form a popular company (ex: Facebook, Comcast, etc).
