AYER, Mass. — Police in Ayer are investigating after vandals broke into a church on Faulkner Street.
Ayer Police were called to Saint Andrews Church at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday for a reported breaking and entering.
Police found the front door of the church had been forced open and several items had been thrown around and damaged. Aside from damaging the items, police say the vandals lit all of the candles on a shrine inside the church. The candles were still burning when police arrived.
