Police are searching for a suspect after a person was shot inside a barbershop in Jamaica Plain on Saturday.
Police confirmed they called for full notifications after the incident on South Street around 9:49 p.m.
When the officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim, a man in his 20's, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The incident happened at the Professional Barber Shop, which remained closed on Sunday as police continued their search for a suspect.
"For these things to happen as frequently as they do in America is pretty sad," Jamaica Plain resident Jason Pybus said. "It's sad that we have kind of gotten used to it."
A memorial grew outside the shop after the incident, with patrons at The Jeanie Johnson Pub and Grill a few doors down catching wind of what was going on.

"It happened while there was like 10 people out here," Jeff Somers said. "They heard a guy walk in there and shoot four times, then he ran right by us and ran right up that hill."
Candles, cookies and an empty bottle of cognac were among the items left in memory of the unidentified victim, with a cross with rosary left by local resident Lucy Wagner.
"Whoever their family is, I'm sorry for your loss," Wagner said. "I will pray for this person."
The owner of the barber shop told Boston 25 News the victim was a regular customer who got his hair cut about once every two months.
Boston Police are investigating the incident, and anyone with information is asked to contact Boston Police Homicide Detectives at (617) 343-4470.
