ROCHESTER, N.H. – Police in Rochester are searching for the person who crashed a car into a house Tuesday night and left the scene on foot.
The crash happened just before midnight on Lowell Street. Boston 25 News spoke to a woman who was in the house sleeping with her husband and four dogs at the time.
The truck destroyed Irene Turner’s sun room and damaged a bathroom. The farmhouse is 375 years old, and this is the second time somebody crashed into it.
“It's like a woo-boom double that,” she said.
Workers have cleaned up most of the debris and boarded up the whole, but the driver remains on the run.
“They said did you see anything and I says I saw a shadow but it was dark he ran,” Turner said.
A K-9 was brought in to track the driver but that search was unsuccessful.
Police contacted the 24-year-old man who owns the truck and he told them it was stolen sometime before the crash occurred.
