NATICK, Mass. — The Jordan's Imax Theater in Natick was evacuated Friday night after two calls reporting a threat.
According to the Natick Police Department, the Mass. State Police bomb squad was called to the scene and eventually allowed the theater to reopen.
At the time of the calls the theater was showing 'The Jungle Book 3D.'
Many movie-goers told FOX25's Jacqui Heinrich that instead of being concerned for their safety, a group of people pulled out their cell phones to record the scene.
"More than anything it just makes me sad that this is what we've kind of come to as a society. It makes me scared to raise children and for my nephews that that this is just everyday life now," Sarah Hemphill said.
Reading police tell FOX25 they were also called to the Jordan's Furniture in their town for a similar hoax threat.
