Police officer shot, wounded in Woonsocket, RI

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — A police officer was wounded after being shot in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.

The Woonsocket mayor tells Boston 25 News the officer was shot on the corner of Social and East School streets around 5 a.m. Monday.

Police currently have the suspect cornered in a parking lot.

There is no word on the officer's condition.
