Police: Man arrested for selling contaminated shellfish in Falmouth

FALMOUTH, Mass. — A man was arrested for illegally digging, mislabeling and selling over 1,300 contaminated shellfish to a Falmouth based supplier, according to the Falmouth Marine and Environment Services.

Falmouth MES started an investigation Wednesday involving a man that was harvesting contaminated shellfish.

Falmouth MES and Massachusetts Environmental Police said they watched the man collect contaminated shellfish.

Carlton Hendricks III was then arrested for shellfishing in a contaminated area, improperly tagging shellfish, incorrect shellfish labeling and shellfishing without a permit.

Falmouth MES confiscated and destroyed the 1,366 shellfish.
