Police make 20 arrests in Brockton warrant sweep

BROCKTON, Mass. — State Police and Brockton Police arrested 20 people in Brockton while taking a firearm and trafficking amounts of cocaine.

More than 50 members of law enforcement met in Brockton to execute the arrest warrants on Thursday in and around Brockton.

"Law enforcement at all levels are working daily to combat crime in the city of Brockton," Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz said. "I commend the work of the State Police, Brockton Police and all of the agencies who participated this morning. We will continue to work to impact public safety in this safety and help keep residents safe this summer."

The men and women arrested had outstanding warrants on charges including child rape, trafficking in cocaine, drug distribution, armed robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, intimidating a witness and possession of a firearm.
