Police have identified and arrested the man who allegedly exposed himself in a Sudbury grocery store parking lot on December 28, according to the local law enforcement.

The man - identified as Amilcar Antonio Rivas-Rivera, 26, of Framingham - was taken into custody with the assistance of the Framingham Detectives Unit.

“We felt it was very imperative to keep him in our sights and get him off the streets once we met our threshold for probable cause," Sudbury Police Chief Scott Nix said. "We don’t want anyone to be exposed to this type of behavior.”

Sudbury Police say they responded to an ATM kiosk in a Shaw's parking lot at 505 Boston Post Road around 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 28 for a report of indecent exposure.

When they arrived, officers spoke with a woman who said she had seen the suspect - later identified as Rivas-Rivera - sitting inside his vehicle, which was parked next to hers. He had his pants down while touching his genitals in a sexual manner.

The woman said Rivas-Rivera made no verbal or physical contact with her, and she then drove away from him.

Police were able to get a sketch made of the suspect based on the woman's description, and say it helped them identify and arrest the suspect.

“That sketch was amazing," Nix said. "That was the critical point that allowed us to move forward to find a suspect.”

Police say they began surveillance on the 26-year-old and arrested him in a restaurant parking lot Friday night.

He was also arrested at least twice last year, as well, for similar incidents.

Police in Ashland say a 24-year-old woman was walking her dog in October when she found Rivas-Rivera with his shorts around his ankles at Ashland State Park.

He was also arrested in March by Natick Police after he allegedly exposed himself on the parking deck of the Natick Mall.

Rivas-Rivera was charged with Open and Gross Lewdness as well as Lascivious Behavior. Bail was set at $15,000.

He is expected to be arraigned in Framingham District Court on Monday, according to the Sudbury Police Department.
