BROCKTON, Mass. — Brockton Police are investigating after a 26-year-old man was fatally shot Friday night.

The shooting, police say, happened on the victim’s driveway at his 10 Shaw Road home at around 9:00 p.m.

At the scene, crews found Marshawn A. Potts suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on scene.

Neighbors say they heard the gunfire, saying it’s unusual in their quiet neighborhood.

“We were sitting on the couch right in the front of the house and we heard this noise, ‘Boom, boom, boom, boom,’” said Judie St. Cyr, a neighbor. “Within a few moments, minutes, we heard sirens from quite a distance away and I thought, could it be?”

Police continue to investigate the shooting and said they do not believe this was a random act.

“They were waiting for him from what they said, waiting down the street and he got dropped off and they shot him and drove off, it’s pretty scary,” said Brian Allen, a neighbor.

K9 units searched the home on Saturday as police combed the area for possible clues.

No arrests have been made an police have not yet named any suspects.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact Brockton Police or State Police Detectives at 508-897-5234.
