Police identify man shot and killed Saturday in Charlestown

CHARLESTOWN, Mass. — Boston Police said the man who was shot and killed early Saturday morning in Charlestown was 33-year-old Jawad Muhammed of Mattapan.

The police responded to a radio call around 3:20 a.m. for a person shot inside 6 Mystic Place in Charlestown.

When officers arrived they found the man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Boston EMS pronounced Muhammed dead on scene.

The Boston Police Department is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident and is asking anyone with information relative to this investigation to contact Boston Police Homicide Detectives at (617) 343-4470.
