Saugus Police have identified the victim of a Sunday afternoon crash that left one dead, according to an official release from the town’s police department.
Steven Rauseo, 74, of Saugus was taken to a local hospital after his vehicle crashed through a garage and subsequently went down an embankment. Rauseo was seriously injured and needed medical attention after the crash.

After a technical rescue team pulled him up the embankment, he was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An initial investigation concluded that the incident was accidental, however, Saugus Police will continue to investigate the cause of the crash. The Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section is assisting in the investigation.
Rauseo was the only person in the car at the time of the crash.
