Pilot released from hospital after Marshfield plane crash

MARSHFIELD, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Pilot Doug Olson, 68, of Yarmouth Port was released from the hospital Tuesday, just four days after surviving a plane crash in Marshfield. Olson was transported to South Shore Hospital after the crash and treated for minor leg injuries.

Firefighters were called to the scene of the crash last Friday around 3:45 p.m. Olson noticed something was wrong just after taking off in a Maul M-5 aircraft. While trying to land, he hit some tree tops and crashed, according to the Marshfield Fire Department.

Olson was able to get himself out of the plane before it burst into flames. He was helped out of the woods by a construction worker who was working nearby.
