On Tuesday, a man in his late 20s was shot as he sat inside a black Mazda at the corner of Crawford Street and Humboldt Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. He later died at the hospital.
It was not immediately clear Wednesday if both shootings are connected.
Boston Police Commissioner William Gross decried the gun violence during a press conference on Tuesday. He asked the public for help in catching the person responsible for Tuesday's homicide.
"No information is too small, too little. Just please, alert us," Gross said.
