BOSTON — Police have made an arrest in an early morning shooting on Shawmut Avenue.
Boston Police responded to 724 Shawmut Avenue just before 6:30 a.m. Monday for a report of a person shot. An adult male victim in his mid-50s was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The victim was able to give officers a detailed description of the suspect. A few hours later, police arrested 50-year-old Ismail Abdurrashid-McCullum of Roxbury.
He will appear in court for assault with intent to murder, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and firearm discharged within 500-feet of a dwelling.
The location of the shooting is about a half mile from where a Boston Police officer was shot this weekend.
