EVERETT, Mass. — A 62-year-old Melrose man died after being hit by a car in Everett, State Police said.
The crash happened at around 9:55 p.m. on Friday where the Revere Beach Parkway meets Vine Street.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the man and a woman were crossing against the pedestrian signals at the intersection. While crossing, the man was struck by a Dodge Charger in the right lane.
The woman was not hit.
Westbound lanes on the Revere Beach Parkway were closed down following the crash as police worked to gather evidence.
Police say the driver, a 24-year-old man from Utah, stayed on scene. It is unclear if he will face any charges.
The victim was later identified as Francis Stamegna.
