Open road tolling could eliminate Mass. Pike toll booths

Progress is being made in the push to elimate toll booths on the Mass. Pike.

New structures will hold the sensors for "open road tolling" lanes.

Once they're up and running, drivers will no longer have to go through a toll booth.

The technology is already in use on the Tobin Bridge.

It will require all cars to have EZ-Pass or drivers will receive a bill in the mail for the cost of the toll.
