26-year-old arrested in connection with Mattapan shooting that seriously injured man

A St. Louis police officer is accused of driving a van too roughly to punish two prisoners, court documents claim.

BOSTON — Police have arrested a Hyde Park man in connection with a shooting in Mattapan that seriously injured a man.

The shooting happened just after 11 p.m. Friday on Halborn Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man in his late 30s suffering from several gunshot wounds.

Police said the victim was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, but he’s expected to survive.

Detectives arrested Danny Nunez, 26, around 10:30 a.m. Monday and charged him in connection with the shooting. He’ll be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of assault with intent to murder, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.
