AYER, Mass. — An arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect in a violent home invasion that happened in Ayer in April.
On April 21, Ayer Police were called to a home on East Main Street for a reported home invasion. Police told Boston 25 News at the time they were called to the home but were still trying to determine if the allegation was true and if there was a suspect on the run.
Two-and-a-half months later, the Middlesex District Attorney announced an arrest warrant has been issued for 28-year-old Carlos Asencio of Nashua, New Hampshire.
Officials say on April 21 just before 5 a.m., Asencio broke into the home wearing a mask and armed with a handgun and stun gun. He allegedly attacked the woman with the stun gun and the two fought before he fled.
Investigators say the home invasion was not random and the suspect and victim know each other.
Asencio is being charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit a felony, armed home invasion, assault with intent to murder, armed masked robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery on a household or family member.
On Thursday, Asencio was arrested for a stabbing at a Worcester restaurant that killed a woman.
