ROCHESTER, N.H. — A New Hampshire man has been arrested for animal cruelty.
On October 15, Rochester police were called to Amazon Park on Whitehouse Road for possible animal cruelty. Police found the dog and the owner and took the dog, a female named Cario, to Rochester Veterinary Clinic.
Police say 22-year-old Gage White of Rochester shocked the dog two times using a stun gun. That night, police say a 33-year-old neighbor confronted White about the dog mistreatment and White put the stun gun on the man's chest, but did not shock him.
Rochester police issued arrest warrants for White, who turned himself in a few days later. White is charged with two counts of animal cruelty and one count of simple assault. He was released on bail and is due in court on November 27.
White surrendered his dog Cario, who will be taken from the vet to the Cocheco Valley Humane Society.
