New Hampshire man arrested in connection to fatal Everett shooting

EVERETT, Mass. — A New Hampshire man has been charged with murder in connection with a Saturday morning shooting that left an Everett man dead.

Police arrested Charles Demos, 29, of Rochester, N.H. on Sunday afternoon in Seabrook, N.H. He was charged with murder and unlawful firearm possession, but was arrested on a fugitive from justice charge by Mass. State Police.

Demos is accused of shooting and killing Jarrod Harris, 42, of Everett outside Karma Lounge in the city on Saturday morning. According to police, the fatal incident began just after 1 a.m. with a physical altercation between Demos and Harris, as well as other individuals.

Harris was pronounced dead at Mass. General Hospital after being shot twice.

Demos is set to be arraigned Monday in Rockingham County District Court on the fugitive from justice charge. There has not been a date set on when Demos will be arraigned in Massachusetts.

Police also arrested Joshua Demos, 35, on Sunday. His arrest was for a federal probation violation and is considered unrelated to Harris' shooting.

An investigation into the fatal shooting remains ongoing by the Middlesex DA's Office and state and local police.
