NEWMARKET, N.H. — Newmarket Police arrested Dr. Hugh MacDonald, 57, at his practice on Friday afternoon.
An arrest warrant charged MacDonald, of Newfields, NH, with seven counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault.
MacDonald's arrest comes after a month-long criminal investigation conducted by Newmarket Police detectives with the help from the Child Advocacy Center in Portsmouth, NH, the Rockingham County Attorney's office and the New Hampshire Attorney General's office.
He was transported to the Rockingham County Jail an placed on a $100,000 cash bail. MacDonald is set to be arraigned at the 10th Circuit Brentwood Division Court on Monday.
