BOSTON — Starting Monday, if you use a rideshare service to be picked up at Logan Airport, there's a new designated area.
If your flight arrives at terminals A or C, you'll be picked up at the central parking garage, which is about a 6-minute walk.
This is one of the many changes Massport is making before the end of the year to help ease congestion around the airport.
Starting today, we are centralizing Ride App passenger pickups for Terminals A and C. Please follow the signs to Central Parking where you can request your ride and meet your driver. https://t.co/tDdg1XEEe7 #FlyBOS #LoganForward pic.twitter.com/hqas644CtX

More than 40% of traffic coming to Logan Airport during peak time is from rideshare services, including Uber and Lyft. Officials hope this change will lead to shorter wait times for passengers.
An airport fee of $3.25 is assessed as part of the overall cost for rides starting at the airport, which rideshare companies can charge the passenger.
The central garage pickup area is in the middle of the terminals, but officials said passengers will be protected during the winter.
Massport's changes are rolling out in stages. Starting Nov. 4 at terminals B and E, passengers will be picked up at the central garage.
For dropoffs, starting on Nov. 11, all rideshare companies will dropoff between 4 and 10 a.m. at the lower level terminal clubs. On Dec. 9, all other ride app dropoffs move to central parking.
