WORCESTER, Mass. — It was a special day for 140 children who have been in state foster care in Massachusetts as they were formally adopted as a part of National Adoption Day.

The adoptions took place at six courthouses across the state, including one in Worcester, where the Curry family became a family of five.

Boston 25 News introduced you to the Curry family of Sudbury on Thursday. Parents KC and Lena first adopted Joey and when they sought to adopt him a sibling, the journey led them to his two biological brothers.

Joey, Noah, and Logan made it official Friday morning in a room full of people supporting and celebrating kids in foster care being adopted. The Currys told us they have closed the loop.

"We just feel like it's this weight, this relief. They've always been ours, they've been ours since the beginning. So now it's official. There's no more milestones to pass. We're just going to live our life now as a family. We're finally permanent," KC and Lena said.

Speaking of families of five making it official, Boston 25's own Blair Miller and his husband Johnathon officially adopted their third son, Jameison.

"It's funny how for adoptive parents out there, you just know…" Miller said.

Jameison is very excited to join Zeke and Cash as the third Miller son.

National Adoption Day celebrates the adoption of children in state custody. There are about 3,500 of those children still waiting for their forever homes.
