SOMERVILLE, Mass. — Massachusetts State Police took a person of interest into custody in Somerville, after briefly locking down Davis Square Wednesday morning when they say a bank robber shot at police officers.
However, Somerville police said shortly thereafter they said that person was not connected to the bank robbery and the hunt was still on for the suspect.
MSP said shortly before 11 a.m. an alleged bank robber was armed and dangerous somewhere along College Avenue near Davis Square. Residents were asked to shelter in their homes and stay inside as they searched for the man they say shot at officers.
