MSP: 3 southerners arrested in Plymouth motel raid

PLYMOUTH, Mass. — The Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit announced officers arrested three people on gun and drug charges after a raid at the Blue Spruce Motel in Plymouth.

A fugitive from Tennessee was among the three arrested by the State Police Gang Unit. The two men are facing gun and drug charges and the woman was arrested on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine.

During this raid, Police say they recovered a semi-automatic handgun along with five rounds of ammunition, approximately 18.4 grams of methamphetamine, five oxycodone pills, and drug packing materials.

Outside of the motel, police say they seized more ammunition and $500 in suspected profits from narcotic sales in one of the defendant’s trucks.

The fugitive was a woman found in a parked car outside a Blue Spruce Motel room. She was later identified by State Police as Melissa Hinson, 28, of Humboldt Tennessee.

Hinson was arrested and will face charges in her home state of Tennessee.

According to police, Hinson was believed to be staying at the motel with Jefferey Haddock, 42, of Hohenwald, Tennessee. Haddock was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, police said.

Police also arrested Charles Barr from Chocowinity, North Carolina, who, police say, was in an adjoining room from Hinson and Haddock.

Barr is facing the same charges as Haddock with as well as unlawful possession of oxycodone pills.

Both Barr and Haddock were transported to the State Police Norwell barracks after they were booked at the Plymouth Police Department. Both men and Hinson were expected to be arraigned in Plymouth District Court Friday morning.
