Motorcycle driver killed in Framingham crash

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — A motorcycle driver has died from the injuries he sustained during a crash in Framingham on Tuesday, according to Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan.

Ryan identified the motorcycle driver as Evan Maillet, 21, of Franklin.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. at the intersection of Beaver and Second Streets.

Scott Hayes told Boston 25 News he saw the motorcycle heading west on Beaver Street at a high rate of speed before slamming into an SUV turning left onto Second Street.

“The injured rider was on the lawn of a house approximately 20 to 30 feet from bike,” Hayes said. “His helmet was another 20 feet past that.”

Hayes said two other witnesses told him the motorcyclist wasn’t breathing, so he checked for a pulse and began performing CPR.

A Framingham Department of Public Works employee also stopped to help. He stabilized the victim’s head and neck.

“Police showed up with a defibrillator, which indicated no rhythm and to continue CPR,” Hayes said.

Hayes said he continued CPR for five to seven more minutes until the fire department and EMS arrived at the scene.

“It was what I expect any human to do,” Hayes said. “No matter what our beliefs are we should always do what we can to help someone in dire need.”

Ryan said Maillet was pronounced dead at a hospital around 6:30 p.m.

The driver of the SUV did stop.

The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Framingham Police and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section are actively investigating. No charges have been filed.
