MILTON, Mass. — A Milton man arrived home on Friday afternoon to find three burglars inside his home.
"I got here just as the first Milton police officer showed up," said Kevin Collins.
Collins initially rushed home after getting a call from ADT Security about his alarm going off.
"When I heard it was the back door, my thought was it can't be good," he said.
Collins came home to glass from his now-shattered back door scattered across his floor and the rock used to break it in his kitchen.
But it’s what he saw next that will stick with him forever.

"I just turned and looked down the hallway and I saw my daughter’s door close," he remembers.
That's when Collins realized the burglars were still inside his home.
"I just yelled to the police officer, I said, 'They're still in the house,'" he said. "And, at that point, I heard a loud noise as the three of them bugled their way to the front door, open up the storm door and then I yelled to her, 'They're going out the front door.'"
The trio made a run for it, taking off with a laptop left on a desk in the home. Seconds later Garfield Street in Milton was swarming with patrol cars.
Collins says police told him all three people were later caught and arrested. But what he can't understand is why they weren’t scared away by the alarm.
"I just assumed when they heard the alarm going off they would have left," he said.
This isn't the first time the Collins’ home was burglarized. The family says they're now looking into buying surveillance cameras and installing a louder alarm system.
