Memorial playground being dedicated in honor of Sgt. Sean Gannon

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — A memorial playground is being dedicated to fallen Yarmouth Sgt. Sean Gannon who was killed in the line of duty in April 2018.

The playground is located at The Campbell School in Gannon's hometown of New Bedford.

According to a GoFundMe page set up for the campaign, the New Bedford School Committee unanimously voted to name the playground after him.

Gannon grew up in the community and his parents still live there.

The playground features pictures of Gannon and his police K-9, Nero.
