TRURO, Mass. — The Head of the Meadow Beach in Truro has been closed down for swimming for an hour after a white shark was spotted nearby.
Beach goers are advised to stay out of the water until told otherwise by authorities.
One viewer commented seeing a fin in the water on Sharktivity, an app developed in collaboration with the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries and Cape Cod National Seashore as well as officials from Cape Cod and South Shore towns, which tracks shark activity in real time.
"Saw a dorsal fin and caudal fin off the water about four inches, 50 feet away from me while I was paddle surfing at Marconi Beach. The two fins were about 6 feet apart," said one beach goer.
