BOSTON — Riders on the Orange Line will have to deal with their old trains for a few more weeks.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority announced yesterday that the first new train to roll out on the Orange Line has been delayed and won't enter service until early Spring.
The T made the announcement Monday, saying nothing is wrong with the train but the testing of one component is taking longer than expected.
The transit agency says they will try and expedite the process but not at the risk of passenger safety.
The MBTA hopes to replace the entire aging Orange Line fleet by 2022.
