NOW PLAYING ABOVE

BOSTON — If you’re a commuter from North of Boston, you could soon find yourself paying new tolls on the Tobin Bridge leaving the city.

According to MassDOT, the software for the toll system will be tested over the summer and the northbound tolls will be activated by the end of the year.

The new system would cost commuters $1.25 each way.

Currently, drivers traveling southbound over the bridge are charged $2.50.
