WALPOLE, Mass. — As the snowfall slowed down, the snowblowers came out in Walpole Saturday night.
Neighbor after neighbor on Pleasant Street came out to start cleaning up after this blizzard dumped close to two feet of snow in some areas.
“It’s really light, so it’s not sticky, it’s pretty light, and it just flies all over the place, so I kind of just throw it in the air somewhere it lands and hopefully it’s not back in your driveway,” said Andrew Nixon while snow blowing his mother’s house.
It wasn’t easy for the plows to keep up with the roads during the day, as the snow fell so quickly – blowing all over the place with those strong winds.
“This is probably the biggest snowstorm in Massachusetts we’ve seen,” said Amanda Holleran while skiing down Coney Street with her husband. “The streets are nice because it’s compact snow, so you’re just gliding through it,”
“We live just in the area and we’ve had the skis in our attic for a couple of years and we’re like yeah it’s a great time to just bust them out and ski around right now,” said John Holleran.
Despite the whiteout conditions and icy roads, some people tried to look on the brighter side.
“It’s beautiful outside,” said Randy Jackson, who lives in Walpole.
